Job Summary
Responsible for accurate and efficient testing and reporting of waived, moderately complex and highly complex laboratory results. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is also responsible for insuring the integrity of all policies, procedures and testing
systems including specimen procurement, specimen processing, and specimen distribution procedures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate test results to laboratory clients: functions as
primary resource for analysis of tests.
- Performs specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient results.
- Confirms abnormal and critical values, verifies quality control procedures, and develops solutions to problems concerning the generation of laboratory data.
- Adheres to the laboratory's quality control policies, documenting all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations. Suggests improvements.
- Adheres to the laboratory's equipment maintenance policies: perform preventative and corrective maintenance, identify sources for repair and document all maintenance procedures.
- Performs proficiency testing and maintains records that demonstrate that samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
- Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Performs all STAT and routine clinical testing according to established standards and completes analysis within established
