Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Certifications/Licenses Required: Bachelor\'s
Degree in Urban/City Planning, Community Development, Public Policy or
related area of study. SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Planning
Department is hiring an Associate Planner/Grant & Project Manager with a
professional, working knowledge of city/urban planning specifically
related to the implementation of comprehensive plan initiatives,
implementation of neighborhood & site-specific plans, and project
Management. Additionally, The Associate Planner Requires Skills That
grant proposal development and grant administration as part of overall
project management abilities. Intermediate supervision of the Associate
Planner will be provided by the Director of Planning & Development and
the Assistant Planner however, the Associate Planner will be expected to
manage projects independently as a representative of the Department
while regularly collaborating with other City Departments and advising
the Mayor and other City Officials. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: Advance
and implement the City\'s goals, policies, and programs as established
in the City\'s Comprehensive Plan: Envision Our Chicopee: 2040; Develop
informational and promotional materials regarding Department functions,
programs, development review procedures, permit and plan approval
requirements; Administer grant awards to the Department (i.e. ensuring
compliance with all grant requirements, reporting, etc.); Manage
projects being funded via grant programs awarded to the Department;
Coordinate with Department staff on planning and implementation of other
planning activities and/or projects related to development goals,
policies, and programs; Compile, analyze, and interpret federal, state,
and local data sources in support of development implementation
consistent with the City\'s Comprehensive Plan; Assist Department staff
with the organization of community events and associated community
outreach; Generate staff reports as needed to communicate with the
community, Boards & Commissions, and City Officials; Participate in
evening and weekend community, Board & Commission meetings as needed;
and Assist with Department\'s file archiving program. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor\'s Degree in Urban/City Planning, Community Development, Public
Policy or related area of study. - Required Minimum of two - four (2 -
- years of planning in any capacity. - Required AICP Certification or a
