Responsibilities*

  • Ability to use computers, software and other technology for inventory and communication purposes.
  • Successfully examine and process incoming product to verify conformance to purchase order specifications.
  • Receive merchandise and verify bills of lading or packing lists from vendors and report discrepancies to a designated authority.
  • Inspect items for damage and completeness.
  • Inspections of product upon arrival through parcel count from carriers. Scan in all tracking numbers using PeopleSoft technology.
  • Receive products using the WMS and PeopleSoft technology, only receiving quantities listed on packing slips and manifest.
  • Financial receipt and physical put away of warehouse product using PAR technology.
  • Use of technology to identify non-stock products and prepare them for delivery to MSC customers.
  • Problem solves receiving errors sent from supply chain areas, including vendors and communicate back with root case for error. Communicate professionally to other links of supply chain, including Transactional Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and other supply chain areas.
  • Operate powered material handling equipment
  • Effective and accurate separation of products to customers of centralized receiving and MSC customers to all areas of the hospital complex (8 or more buildings, including BREHM), including restricted areas.
  • Participate in inventory control procedures and perform physical inventory of stock items.
  • Possess appropriate license (chauffeur) for driving departmental trucks
  • Load and unload stock to/from motor vehicles.
  • Deliver stock to requisitioning unit by motor vehicle
  • Assemble, inspect, adjust and repair (minor) articles, such as laboratory equipment or tools by performing such duties as replacing cords or tightening


Required Qualifications*

  • This position requires chauffer's license.
  • Applications submitted without a resume will not be considered.
  • High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Stockkeeping experience i.e Inventorying, reconciling, and expiration date monitoring.
  • Position requires ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities such as, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.


Work Schedule

Standard hours: 40

Work days: Monday-Friday

Shift start/end times: 6:30am-2:30pm

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
