Duties
- Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more vehicles to include: platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, ambulances, passenger shuttle vans and cargo vans with gross weight of more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds.
- Operates vehicle through all kinds of traffic, or over rough terrain, depending upon the type of vehicle being operated.
- Loads and unloads cargo by hand. Exercises caution in preventing overloading and in securing cargo to prevent damage or loss in transit and for the safety and comfort of passengers.
- Determines shortest and safest routes.
- Observes safety rules, regulations, and posted traffic controls and highway guide signs.
- Washes vehicles
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to meet the 3-year residency requirements to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and network access.
- This position requires the possession of a driving license and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and good driving record.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical and completion of required immunizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience
- Must be skilled in all facets of maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds.
- Must have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles.
- Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) if transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver.
- Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position
does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
