Job Description

Esquire is seeking a Social Media Editor who, working directly with our Senior Digital Director, will strategize how to expand the brand’s presence on key social platforms. Strong organizational skills in addition to an ability to create voice-y posts a must. The ideal candidate will have fresh ideas on how to collaborate with Esquire’s network to build original, social-first stories.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Esquire’s social media strategy.
  • Collaborate with video producers and editorial teams to continue creating top-notch content for a suite of profiles like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram.
  • Educate the team on social strategy and weigh in on social story packaging.
  • Meet with edit insights and video team members to develop and improve social strategies as needed.

Qualifications

  • You have 4+ years of social media experience, preferably working for a magazine or digital media brand.
  • You have a strong understanding of and interest in Facebook and TikTok and keep up-to-date on the platforms' latest trends, tools and features.
  • You have a special knack for optimizing content for all social platforms, especially when it comes to crafting clicky headlines and keeping video viewers hooked.
  • You have experience working with social media scheduling and performance-tracking tools, including Social Flow, Parse.ly , Dash Hudson, TikTok Business Suite Analytics and Facebook Creator Studio.
  • You are organized and thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are flexible and comfortable taking feedback.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude.
  • You are enthusiastic about brand strategy and growth.

The base salary for this role is $67-$72k . The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This position is based in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days a week.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
