About the Position:
The Campus Safety Dispatcher provides visitors with information and directions, answers phones, communicates via radio to dispatch Campus Safety personnel, creates staff and student ID cards, assists employees and students with vehicle registration, answers questions regarding parking, Campus Safety policies, and fields requests for department services. Receives and evaluates calls for service to determine level of urgency and required initial action. Prioritizes dispatch calls for service.
This position is represented by the Lewis & Clark College Support Staff Association Local 4912 of the American Federation of Teachers.

Essential Functions:
- Communicate via radio to dispatch officers.
- Provide visitors with direction and information.
- Answer phone and respond to department emails.
- Create ID cards for staff and students.
- Evaluate calls for service to determine level of response.
- Perform database checks and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D).
- 2-4 years of experience dispatching in campus safety, law enforcement or other emergency response setting.
- Strong computer skills using various software and applications.
- Strong customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior office experience.
- Ability to effectively work with people in difficult situations.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under stressful conditions.
- Working knowledge of Lenel Security and ID card software and hardware applications.
- Working knowledge of Blackboard Connect or other emergency notification systems.
Work Schedule:
- Benefit Eligible: Yes
- 37.5 hours per week/7.5 hours per day
- Work schedule will include night and weekend shifts
Pay Rate:
- Union LCCSSA Grade 13 / Step F - $23.52/hr
