Engineer Role And Responsibilities

As a Engineer, your role is responsible for planning, maintaining, repairing facilities equipment and services and implementing technical solutions to support the smooth running of the facility. This is an International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Stationary Engineers, Local 39, position. Your primary responsibilities may include:

Technical Expertise:

• Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in engineering.
• Provide technical guidance and assist the team in designing robust and scalable solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, offer technical feedback, and ensure adherence to safety regulations, codes, standards, and best practices.
  
  

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in the engineering department.
• Implement and enforce engineering best practices, quality standards, and methodologies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by seeking feedback, measuring results, and implementing appropriate changes.
  
  

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and align engineering initiatives accordingly.
• Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and solutions to stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience as a building engineer; strong background with commercial HVAC, electrical
• EPA universal or state electrical certification a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical maintenance is preferred.
• IUOE Local 39 union member or interest in membership
