The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex control systems, as well as the ability to develop and execute detailed work plans and methods of procedure (MOPs) that prioritize safety and ensure high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical maintenance crews in mission critical environments (e.g., data centers, hospitals, telecom facilities).
  • Troubleshoot and repair control circuits for ATS, circuit breakers, and other critical components.
  • Install, maintain, and service Building Automation Systems (BAS) and low-voltage control systems.
  • Develop, draft, and implement detailed work plans and methods of procedure (MOPs).

  • Coordinate directly with clients, project managers, and other trades to ensure quality and timely execution.
  • Ensure strict adherence to NEC, NFPA 70E, and company-specific safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent, with strong BAS and control systems experience.
  • Proven experience leading electrical crews on service or maintenance projects.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and meters for identifying control system faults and performance issues.
  • Working knowledge of ATS systems, circuit breaker controls, and automation protocols.
  • Experience developing and executing MOPs and coordinating system shutdown/start-up procedures.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards including NFPA 70E.
  • Certifications from major control system vendors (e.g., Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls) are a plus.
  • Must be a current IBEW member or willing to join.

Preffered Experience & Training:

  • IR Thermography Certification (Level I or higher) – for infrared inspections and preventive diagnostics
  • PEARL Certification or equivalent – for safe and reliable electrical equipment reconditioning practices
  • EVITP Certification – Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program, essential as EV charger installs grow

  • Factory or Manufacturer Training (e.g., Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls, ASCO, Eaton) – for ATS, BAS, and power systems
  • NETA Awareness or Maintenance Experience – even without certification, familiarity with NETA testing processes is helpful
  • OSHA 30 or NFPA 70E Instructor Certification – demonstrates leadership in safety culture
  • Low Voltage Systems Knowledge – experience with fire alarm, access control, or BMS integration is a strong advantage
  • Experience Using CMMS or Digital Work Order Systems – such as Corrigo, ServiceChannel, or UpKeep
  • PLC Troubleshooting or Programming Experience – for complex automation environments
  • Leadership Training or Foreman Development Programs – completion of formal IBEW leadership courses or similar
