Responsibilities
Our Human Resources Team is currently seeking a self-driven Leave Management Supervisor to join our team at the Department of Human Services on our Direct Care and Treatment Division.
As the Leave Management Supervisor, you will supervise a team of currently five (5) Leave Management Coordinators in daily functions, providing professional human resource guidance and consultation in the areas of coordinating leaves of absence such as FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, Medical Leave, Military Leave, etc., along with maintaining databases, providing reports, insurance coordination, and providing quality control for Direct Care and Treatment.
**This position has a flexible work arrangement that may allow for Telework or a mixture of working in our office and Telework; This team is currently Teleworking; however, this may change in the future with notice. **
Qualifications
Leadership experience: Demonstrated leadership experience may include any of the following:
- Experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, OR project lead*
- Completion of a State leadership development program, such as Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) or Senior Leadership Institute (SLI), L4, etc.
- Completion of a similar or equivalent leadership development program through another organization
- A paid or unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee, such as an Employee Resource Group (ERG). This experience must also include:
- 1+ years of identifying issues, goals, and strategic actions
- 100+ hours per year time commitment
AND
Three years of experience demonstrating the following human resources competencies:
- Expert knowledge of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Military Leave (USERRA), and unpaid leave.
- Working knowledge of and Reasonable Accommodations as provided by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws, statewide policies, guidelines, union contracts (AFSCME, MAPE, MMA, MNA and SRSEA collective bargaining agreements), and employee plans.
- Demonstrated work experience in collecting information/data, auditing and verifying accuracy and to calculate and produce complex detailed analyses of data in various computer systems and/or programs, including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, scanning software, and reporting writing.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills sufficient to ensure policies, bargaining agreements, personnel plans, processes, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations are followed accurately and consistently.
- Human relations and communication skills sufficient to interact with a variety of clientele at all levels in order to communicate effectively, accurately and in an understanding manner, all while maintaining confidentiality.
Completion of a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field will substitute for one year of experience
Completion of an Associate Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field will substitute for 6 months of experience
