This is an internal position for all UFCW Impark employees.

The Flagger performs a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the parking facility, while delivering a service that exceeds our customer/client’s expectations. Depending on the needs of the location the Flagger is responsible for greeting guests, issuing tickets, completing car counts, directing traffic, and ensuring facility cleanliness. The Flagger works closely with fellow team members, Operations Manager, and/or Shift Supervisor to ensure that cleanliness as well as safety standards are met at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stand and direct customers to designated parking areas (Approx. 2 hours before events)
  • Assist CSRs with customer inquiries, directions, and parking assistance
  • Attracting customers and providing visibility
  • Act as traffic controller to direct incoming guests to available parking space, assisting with the new ticketless system
  • Directing traffic post-event to ensure a smooth exit
  • Reporting any technical issues for immediate resolution
  • Once the event has begun, inspecting the facility, picking up litter, and enabling the regular rate for non-event customers — ensuring that guests not attending the event are appropriately charged the standard rate
  • Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Perform vehicle counts on location throughout shift to ensure garage does not over fill available spaces
  • Promote positive experiences for all Impark partners and clients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to Impark standards.
  • Clean outdoor areas of parking equipment, including wiping down machines and picking up litter.
  • Help manage customer flow exiting the parking lot post-event to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Provide support at exit gates, including monitoring stall counts, payment machines, and resolving payment issues.
  • Cross-train in Attendant and CSR roles as needed.
  • Perform daily patrols
  • Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed; provide assistance to guests who have forgotten where they parked
  • Respond courteously to guest inquiries, offer directions to highways and destinations, and answer general questions.
  • Act as a fast-moving brand ambassador, communicating company policies and assisting with transactions.
  • Assist in traffic direction at entry and exit points.
  • Use respectful communication to assist guests with their questions, problems, and concerns; relay information to Operations Manager or Shift Lead as necessary
  • Immediately report any accidents, incidents or safety concerns to Operations Manager or Shift Lead
  • Communicate professionally at all times with guests, client, and teammates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, in alignment with company guidelines

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Previous customer service experience, preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to verbally communicate with guests
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, including the entire shift.
  • Occasionally lift objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
