This is an affiliated (AFSCME Health Union) position under the School Nurse negotiated contract, following the school calendar with additional workshop days. Compensation commensurate with experience as stated in the contract.

As a School Nurse You Will
- Promote and maintain the health of school children, their families, and school staff
- Provide care, prevention, education, and counseling
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional and medical providers, municipal officials, school officials, clients, and the public.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate in Nursing or higher, plus considerable experience in school, pediatric, or general nursing
- Current Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire and CPR and First Aid Certification
- New Hampshire Department of Education School Nurse Certification or commitment to obtain such within first six months of hire, when required by law for position.
- Valid NH Driver's License
Performs a variety of professional and administrative nursing duties in a school environment; performs directly related work as required.
Responsibilities Of a School Nurse
- Maintaining cumulative health records on all students assigned.
- Daily electronic documentation of student encounters.
- Verification of student health histories, including immunization records to ensure compliance with State laws.
- Administering medication to students as prescribed.
- Performing first aid, health screenings, assessments, and complex medical procedures.
- Up to 8 hours per day for the school year, plus additional days to open and close the nurse's office.
- No nights, weekends, or holidays
