The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) seeks a Personnel Data Administrator to provide essential payroll, onboarding and administrative support to the finance department on the campus of the Woodruff Arts Center.

WORK SCHEDULE

Hybrid

Monday to Friday

9am - 5pm

After hours and weekends for deadlines and special projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources & Payroll (50%):
    • Manage the full new hire process, ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
    • Oversee onboarding steps and maintain accurate documentation for all new hires.
    • Coordinate and execute payroll processing for staff and orchestra members, collaborating with the Arts Center Finance team to ensure timely and accurate payments.
    • Review payroll for accuracy.
    • Verify musician eligibility to work.
  • Orchestra Personnel (20%):
    • Administer instrument insurance plans for orchestra musicians (current and retired), serving as the primary point of contact for related inquiries.
    • Collaborate with the insurance broker, manage policy renewals, and facilitate reimbursements.
    • Manage monthly American Federation of Musicians (AFM) Pension Plan reporting and work dues for Electronic Media Payments.
    • Reconcile monthly orchestra musician dues.
    • Draft annual individual musician contracts (due by February 1st).
  • Financial Management (30%):
    • Assist in the creation of annual staff and orchestra musician salary budgets and forecasts.
    • Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll and benefit accounts to the general ledger.
    • Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
    • Maintain account reconciliations for month-end close.
  • Other Duties: As assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with an accounting background.
  • Experience with General Ledger accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency in Workday is highly desired.

This position requires some standing, walking, bending, frequent use of hands, stooping, and light lifting (up to 25 pounds). The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud.
